From the Artist
Color is nothing without light and shadow. The two work together to bring the world to life. It's impossible to have the light without the dark. The cool depth of shadows provide a backdrop and give power to the colors that surround us. Capturing that dichotomy is one of the cornerstones of art. The impressionist technique probably brings us the closest to that goal. While I tend towards a more refined style of art, I have come to appreciate the exactness of the quick brushstroke and irreverence of the subject, that impressionism favors.
About Watercolor Paintings
Often confused with pencil drawings, due to his fine brushwork and exacting detail, Eldon’s watercolor paintings can begin weeks in advance of the finished work. Sketches and planning often proceed these works with an eye towards bringing forward the spontaneity of the original spark of creation.
This is a wonderful way to own an original work and help support the artist’s continued efforts!
